F*ck Small Talk
A central theme in my graduate research and practice was the fostering of meaningful connections between humans. I continued to explore methods in which we can dig deeper when exchanging stories, ideas and outlooks on the world around us. F*ck Small Talk was created as an easily accessible, fun to navigate and mutually beneficial tool for two or more people to engage in substantive discourse.
By opening doors for new discovery, shared humor and memorable chats, my goal is to empower those who struggle in social settings, and game the awkward silences that inevitably occur when meeting new people. Experimenting with UX/UI, app design and more intentional use of technology was a highlight of my MFA journey.

Award Winning

UX/UI Design
The prototype of F*ck Small Talk was honored by AIGA Baltimore as best UX/UI Design in their annual design competition, Flux. Bold graphics, straightforward storytelling and an easy to navigate design system were well recognized.
Flipping the script on devices that have hindered IRL connections between humans was an exciting concept to explore. Leaning into gamification and familiar design languages, the chance to develop deep and meaningful conversation is right at your fingertips.
User Experience
F*ck Small Talk was built as an answer to the dreaded awkward silence that inevitably occurs when people run out of things to talk about. A series of short prompts allows 2+ people to assess the vibe, determine the right topics of conversation and dive into more impactful modes of connection.
